Tim Clark wins Australian selection for World Chocolate Masters
The Australian national selection for the World Chocolate Masters was won by TIM CLARK, Pastry Chef at Crown Casino in Melbourne. He competed at the Ryde TAFE in Sydney on 24th February 2005, with four more contestants for the honour of becoming the Australian Chocolate Master and representing his home country at the world finals.
The contestants presented their chocolate showpieces, their commercial and their very creative pralines and chocolate cakes, all made off site and suiting the competition theme of "Surrealism". Within the 2-hour live component of the contest, they were challenged to create another praline from a mystery box of ingredients.
All contestants and their creations were judged on their technicity by professionals such as lecturers and highly respected chefs. The taste of each creation was judged by people from the media and other chocolate loving judges.
